Despite sharing a life together, many couples are reluctant to lay their financial cards on the table. Around 25% keep their current accounts entirely separate, 30% hold savings in separate accounts and 23% maintain separate investments, according to new research from the Prudential.

British expats in the Eurozone have seen their incomes from the State Pension vary by almost 10 per cent over the past year, according to analysis by Prudential. They are also worse off than a year ago despite the £2.70 per week increase in the State Pension in April this year.

October was another good month for world stock markets, with all the major markets except China and Japan making gains. Despite the continuing disagreements between the President and Congress, the US Dow Jones index reached another record high – even though the agreement to end the financial stalemate and keep the country solvent came at the 59th minute of the 11th hour and only lasts until February.
