Second 2015 Budget Announced for 8th July

Chancellor George Osborne has surprised voters, political and business leaders alike by announcing that he will take the unusual step of delivering a second 2015 Budget on 8th July, just one hundred and twelve days after the Budget of 18th March. With an Autumn Statement also due later in the year, the second Budget will mean the Chancellor will deliver three important economic summaries and policy plans in the space of just nine months.

Budget 2015: Trading in Your Annuity

Proposals announced in the recent Budget confirmed that up to five million pensioners are to be given the new flexibility to trade in their annuities for cash from next year. As part of this change, the Government has launched a consultation on plans to open a secondary market in annuities in 2016, which would give savers a new option to sell their annuity income to the highest bidder, who might include insurers and pension funds.

Budget 2015: Help coming for most UK savers
