There are a number of insurers offering private medical cover, from household names like Bupa and Aviva to lesser-known companies like Exeter Family Friendly and Freedom Healthnet. Most insurers offer a choice of products, ranging from comprehensive plans to budget policies that restrict or remove out-patient cover. Menu-type plans are also becomingly increasingly popular.
