The Team Is Back Together

After the very disappointing cancellation of the Serenity December meeting (and all important Christmas party), last week saw us all gather together for the first time since March 2020.

We always start our team meetings with a few minutes of inner listening; an opportunity to get grounded and leave any stresses behind. .  We then heard  what has been happening with each person  – both personally and work wise.  It’s almost the ‘water-cooler’ discussions, and a key element that helps us all connect.  From new puppies and kittens,  to trips to India, marriages, three house moves (separate people), and even reggae recordings, it’s refreshing to hear what people get up to around the country.

Updates on innovations in client and colleague service, along with a technical knowledge session rounded the morning off, before a very quick lunch, and insight into the world of sustainable investing and sifting through the various interpretations of it from our hosts EQ Investors.

As financial life planners it’s easy for us to forget that our support team colleagues don’t always experience the impact we have on our clients. It’s always refreshing to share our client stories with the team, helping everyone to see the impact which all the cogs in the wheel have on people’s lives.  As we all know, for us at Serenity, it’s all about the person and their purpose, not about their purse.

We gather next in July, for not just the quarterly meeting, but for our  six monthly investment committee meeting where we run the rule over all aspects of our investment approach, views and facilitators.

In the meantime, we have more online client events planned, giving you to the chance to meet the team, hear about what we’re all up to, and ask us whatever questions are on your mind.

After many weeks of meeting the team virtually via Zoom, it was a great experience to finally meet everybody in person for the first time. I am 6f t3, but of course, this doesn’t translate very well over Zoom. So I think I surprised a few of my colleagues with my height which did make me chuckle “you don’t look this tall over zoom!” Jordan
