The end of July brought our second quarterly team meeting of the year – and again we were in London hosted by Transact, one of our preferred providers. Given the vast majority of the team work remotely throughout the UK, our meetings are our opportunity to spend some much-needed time together as a team.
We began our day the way we always do – a catch-up with everyone both personally and professionally, followed by a moment of inner listening readying us for the day ahead.
With the FCAs implementation of the new Consumer Duty initiative, much of our day was spent discussing these changes – this initiative sets out to ensure clearer communications, fairer treatment, and heightened accountability for firms – all in aid of delivering better outcomes for consumers. We at Serenity have been working hard all year to implement these changes.
We were also treated to a Q&A session with Transact, where we were able to pose our questions to them and also find out about exciting improvements coming to their platform soon.
The day wasn’t all business though as we were lucky enough to spend some time together for a meal at Honest Burgers – where we could really spend some time getting to know Stephen as this was his first meeting since joining Serenity. We finished off the day by undertaking a thrilling ‘Murder on the West End’ themed escape room, where our problem-solving skills were really put to the test! Not only did we manage to reunite and solve the murder of Rose Rodgers, we did so in (almost!) record time. Â
We’re already looking ahead to our next team meeting – again in London in early September.
