When Clive and I first met (via a recommendation) it is fair to say that I was financially drifting, with no immediate or long-term plans.
During my first informal chat with Clive it became quite apparent that he is a âpeople personâ. He wanted to know everything about me, my family, our lifestyle and our aims and ambitions in life. This approach in respect of finance was a completely new experience for me, after years of dealing with banks and building societies.
After our second meeting, Clive had managed to âabstractâ (in the nicest possible way) from me and my family a plan of what we would like to achieve financially over the short, medium and long term. This included moving to a larger house, a target date to pay the mortgage off, a regular saving plan and ultimately the opportunity to retire early. At this point, it was all wishful thinking.
Armed with this information, Clive then produced a plan which clearly set out how we could achieve our aspirations while still living the life that we wanted to live.
I can honestly say that at this point we have never looked back. We have, with Clive and the Serenity teamâs help, kept to the plan. Slowly but surely, we have started to tick off our aims and objectives which we all agreed at our second meeting many years ago.
In our opinion, Clive and the teamâs greatest asset is that they really do care, they get to know you and itâs personal. They are obviously very good at life planning but, honestly, it is so much more than that.
