After 7½ wonderful years, Adam Barker’s journey with Serenity came to an end in December 2019 following his decision to pursue his ambition of becoming a Paraplanner.
Over his time with Serenity, Adam had developed into a capable client relationship manager and financial services technician. When he joined us in 2012, he’d given up on the academic world of 6th form and the A level subjects he’d chosen. Instead, he wanted to get into a role where he could gain experience as well as knowledge and he felt business studies was the way to go.
Adam joined Serenity as an apprentice administrator and in 2013 secured a full time role as a financial services administrator. He gradually became curious about the technical aspects of financial products and always questioned his understanding wanting to know more so in 2014, a nervous Adam sat his first technical exam on Financial Protection.
Despite his nerves and to his own surprise, Adam passed his exam. Over the following 5 years, he went on to pass six more technical exams first time and achieve the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning in 2018! Not many achieve that.
Over his time with us, Adam has become a familiar voice to many of our clients and a popular member of the Serenity Team. He’s worked closely with several of our advisers and he sat on our Investment Committee. It was with immense pride and sadness that we waved goodbye to Adam. We shall certainly miss him but he goes with our full blessing and we wish him every success in his new role.
